Age UK Community Hub
Working under the umbrella of Age Concern Maidstone, Age UK Community Hub runs a Monday Afternoon Tea Club, with homemade cake, quizzes and entertainment, at the McCabe Day Centre from 2.00 pm until 4.00 pm. Contact Rita for further information on 01580 890541; Age Concern Local Leader -

All Saints (Anglican) Church

The Church is a village landmark at the top of the hill. Sunday services at 8.00 am, 10.00 am and 6.30 pm (4.00 pm in the Winter until the clocks change). We also offer a range of services during the week, together with discussion, prayer and educational groups for all ages. Art Classes

Art classes for adults held weekly at Staplehurst United Reform School Hall, Thursdays 1pm-3.30pm or 3.30pm-5.30pm. watercolours, acrylics, pastels, mixed media drawing skills, portraiture, landscapes, still life. Fun sociable art group taught by professional artist and sculptor Joanne Weaver. Beginners very welcome. £10 per session booking essential. Chapel Lane Pre-School


A small, friendly Pre-School catering for children aged 2 ½ years to 5 years of age. We offer a safe, relaxed environment where children can socialise and learn through play. Debt Advice Centre

The Community Centre for Debt Advice in Staplehurst was set up in 2009 as a joint project between the village churches. The team of advisors are all volunteers who have undergone accredited training and offer free, face to face advice for those experiencing financial difficulties. Where necessary we will negotiate with creditors on your behalf and sympathetically lift some of the strain of the situation. We make use of the office in the Staplehurst Free Church building and can also see clients there. Appointments need to be made – usually on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings or at other times by special arrangement. This registered charity is a fundraising body which helps finance projects of maintenance and improvement to All Saints Parish Church, Staplehurst. It aims to involve members of the community through the promotion of a varied programme of events. Friends of Staplehurst Health Centre

The Friends is a charitable organisation founded in 2007 and registered with the Charity Commission. The aims and objectives of the Friends are to relieve sickness and preserve the health of persons permanently or temporarily resident in Staplehurst, Frittenden and the surrounding area:-  (1) by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, support services and equipment not necessarily provided by the statutory authorities,  (2) by advancing the education of the public in health and related matters by the provision of lectures for, and the publication of newsletters devoted to health, and  (3) by such other charitable methods as the Charity acting through its committee may determine.  The Friends hold regular Health Information evenings and publish a newsletter four times a year.  The Secretary and Treasurer is Robin Oakley (Tel: 01580 891516)

Girlguiding Staplehurst

We have a Rainbow Unit for girls aged 5 to7 years, 3 Brownie Units for girls aged 7 to 10 years, 2 Guide Units and a Ranger Unit.  All units meet in the Kathie Lamb Centre in the Headcorn Road.  This Centre is also used for other Girlguiding events including residentials and trainings. For more information regarding Girlguiding Staplehurst, please contact Susanna , 01580 892670. Lions Club
Staplehurst is covered by Paddock Wood and District Lions, whose area includes a wide area of the Weald of Kent. We serve the local community as well as supporting National and International Charities. Our membership of both men and women, regularly give their time to help others, raise funds, and organise events. We meet once a month for club meetings, and also enjoy an active social calendar, both at club and district level. McCabe Day Centre Thursday/Sunday Lunch Club for Over 50's

McCabe Thursday/Sunday Lunch Club held at McCabe Centre, McCabe Close, Bell Lane Staplehurst, TN12 0BW meet on Thursdays & Sundays for lunch between approximately 11.45 and 1.45. Lunch is currently £3.00 on a Thursday and £3.50 on a Sunday and optional local transport is £1.50, there is a raffle each week and Summer and Christmas outings. Minisaints is a parent/carer and baby/preschool group which meets every Thursday afternoon at the Parish Rooms, opposite Church Green (we have a wooden lollipop on a pole outside the building on the Thursday afternoons we are there) from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. We have table top activities and free play for the children with ride-ons and craft activities, a story and a song! We have baby facilities so your child is never too young to join us and give you and your child a chance to meet and make new friends. Royal British Legion, Staplehurst

The Bellringers' practice night is Tuesday from 19:30 to 21:15. The bells are also rung at other times for services, by visiting ringers, for district meetings or new recruits by prior arrangement. Staplehurst Bridge Club
Meets at Sobell Lodge, High Street (at the rear of Staplehurst Village Centre) every Friday at 7.00pm (please aim to arrive by 6.50pm if you wish to play a game) Table money is £1.50 per guest per evening.  Visitors coming on their own are always guaranteed a game - there is no need to find a partner. We are a very friendly club with a mixed standard of play.  We play duplicate bridge. Staplehurst Carnival and Fete
This is the only annual village event, which brings the majority of village organisations and villagers together for a day. The aims of the Carnival and Fete are twofold - to raise funds for deserving village causes and to provide an afternoon of entertainment for all who wish to attend. It is normally held on the last Saturday in June.
Staplehurst Cricket & Tennis Club
Cricket matches are played from April until late September. Saturday and Sunday teams play in the Invicta and Kent Village Leagues respectively. The Tennis section plays winter and summer League matches and courts are also available for social players. Junior coaching for cricket and tennis is also provided and the Club offers varied social events and functions throughout the year.
Staplehurst Cubs
Staplehurst Cubs have an interesting and challenging progamme.  Eagle Cubs meet on Thursday evenings at the Scout Centre in Nicholson Walk (at the end of Crowther Close) between 6.15pm and 8.00pm. Staplehurst Horticultural Society strives to engage with the local community and in particular with local children in order to promote an interest in gardening and rural matters in general. We hold monthly meetings in the Village Centre with illustrated talks, raffles, refreshments etc as well as a number of annual events.

The Village Golf & Sports Club (formerly Diagrit Golf Club)
 This is a well-maintained golf course; perfect for all standards of golfers. Whether you are looking to just take up the game as a hobby or to improve your handicap The village Golf & Sports Club has something to offer everyone.
The course itself has 9 very challenging and different holes. The course par is 28. This is made up of 8 par 3 holes and 1 par 4 hole. The course layout has been well considered to make The Village Golf & Sports Club far more interesting than a traditional par 3 golf course.
Considering you can play the course any time you choose, membership at the Club is also extremely good value for money, with a full yearly membership working out at 30p per day!

The Weald Club for the Disabled
A branch of the KAD - Meets most Fridays at the McCabe Centre, Bell Lane, Staplehurst between 9:30 and 14:00. It is to enable anyone who is physically disabled and lives alone or with a carer the opportunity of outside contact and activity, plus a few hours respite for the carer. Under 5's Playgroup
A community Playgroup providing a safe and secure environment with a high adult/child ratio where children from 2½ to 5 years learn through play. We are Ofsted inspected and a registered charity (no. 802551). Our sessions are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 12:00 in the South Hall, Village Centre. A lunch club runs until 1pm on Weds/Thurs. Voluntary Action Maidstone
Voluntary Action Maidstone started in 1975  as Maidstone Volunteer Bureau. We are still a local charity serving people in the Borough of Maidstone but we have grown to become a Council for Voluntary Service and offer a range of services to organisations and to individual people. The Volunteer Centre provides an enormous choice of exciting opportunities for people to volunteer. Our developing infrastructure support role for voluntary and community groups means we are able to help local services flourish. Our frontline services offer assistance to older people, people with disabilities, people with mental health problems and carers.
