The Church is a village landmark at the top of the hill. Bathurst & Gybbon Trust

BEAVERS
Beaver Colony
We have a Beaver Colony open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 8. The Maple Colony meets on Thursday afternoons between 4.45pm and 6.00pm. BRIGHTER FUTURES

Brighter Futures offers activities for the over 65s in Staplehurst. We have gentle exercise classes, shopping and day trips and a befriending service, either by telephone or in person. Chapel Lane Pre-School

 

A small, friendly Pre-School catering for children aged 2 ½ years to 5 years of age. We offer a safe, relaxed environment where children can socialise and learn through play. Community Centre for Debt Advic
 
The Community Centre for Debt Advice in Staplehurst was set up in 2009 as a joint project between the village churches. The team of advisors are all volunteers who have undergone accredited training and offer free, face to face advice for those experiencing financial difficulties. Where necessary we will negotiate with creditors on your behalf and sympathetically lift some of the strain of the situation. We have a permanent office in the Village Centre where we can see clients. Appointments are made on a Tuesday evening or at other times by special arrangement.

Friends of All Saints Church
 

This registered charity is a fundraising body which helps finance projects of maintenance and improvement to All Saints Parish Church, Staplehurst. It aims to involve members of the community through the promotion of a varied programme of events. Girlguiding Staplehurst

We have a Rainbow Unit for girls aged 5 to7 years, 3 Brownie Units for girls aged 7 to 10 years, 2 Guide Units and a Ranger Unit.  All units meet in the Kathie Lamb Centre in the Headcorn Road.  This Centre is also used for other Girlguiding events including residentials and trainings. For more information regarding Girlguiding Staplehurst, please contact Susanna , 01580 892670. Lions Club
Staplehurst is covered by Paddock Wood and District Lions, whose area includes a wide area of the Weald of Kent. We serve the local community as well as supporting National and International Charities. Our membership of both men and women, regularly give their time to help others, raise funds, and organise events. We meet once a month for club meetings, and also enjoy an active social calendar, both at club and district level. McCabe Day Centre Thursday Lunch Club for Over 50's

Mc Cabe Thursday Lunch Club held at McCabe Centre, McCabe Close, Bell Lane Staplehurst, TN12 0BW meet on Thursdays for lunch between approximately 11.45 and 1.45. Ps'arms

Ps'arms Puppets is a team of Christian puppeteers, based at Staplehurst Free Church. Our aim is to share the good news of Jesus' love through the medium of songs, sketches and Bible stories, presented by large, rod-armed puppets. Staplehurst Bridge Club
Meets at Staplehurst Manor, Frittenden Road every Friday at 7.15pm. Table money is £1.50 per guest per evening.  Visitors coming on their own are always guaranteed a game - there is no need to find a partner. We are a very friendly club with a mixed standard of play.  We play duplicate bridge. Staplehurst Carnival and Fet
This is the only annual village event, which brings the majority of village organisations and villagers together for a day. The aims of the Carnival and Fete are twofold - to raise funds for deserving village causes and to provide an afternoon of entertainment for all who wish to attend. It is normally held on the last Saturday in June.
As 2012 is the Queen's Jubilee year there will be no carnival & fete at the end of June. Carnival & Fete will recommence in 2013.

Staplehurst Community Hub, working under the umbrella of Age Concern Maidston
Hub leaders hold a surgery every Tuesday in the library meeting room from 11.00 am until 12.30 pm.  Here you can find information on the services available or volunteer to help. The Hub runs a Monday Afternoon Tea, with cakes and entertainment, at the McCabe Day Centre from 2.00 pm until 4.00 pm. Staplehurst Cricket & Tennis Club
Cricket matches are played from April until late September. Saturday and Sunday teams play in the Invicta and Kent Village Leagues respectively. The Tennis section plays winter and summer League matches and courts are also available for social players. Junior coaching for cricket and tennis is also provided and the Club offers varied social events and functions throughout the year. Staplehurst Cubs
Staplehurst Cubs have an interesting and challenging progam.  Vulcan cubs meet on Wednesday evenings and Eagle Cubs on Thursday evenings, both at the Scout Centre in Nicholson Walk (at the end of Crowther Close). Staplehurst Horticultural Society
Staplehurst Horticultural Society strives to engage with the local community and in particular with local children in order to promote an interest in gardening and rural matters in general. The Village Golf & Sports Club (formerly Diagrit Golf Club)
 This is a well-maintained golf course; perfect for all standards of golfers. Whether you are looking to just take up the game as a hobby or to improve your handicap The village Golf & Sports Club has something to offer everyone.
The course itself has 9 very challenging and different holes. The course par is 28. This is made up of 8 par 3 holes and 1 par 4 hole. The course layout has been well considered to make The Village Golf & Sports Club far more interesting than a traditional par 3 golf course.
Considering you can play the course any time you choose, membership at the Club is also extremely good value for money, with a full yearly membership working out at 26p per day!

The Weald Club for the Disabled
A branch of the KAD - Meets most Fridays at the McCabe Centre, Bell Lane, Staplehurst between 9:30 and 14:00. It is to enable anyone who is physically disabled and lives alone or with a carer the opportunity of outside contact and activity, plus a few hours respite for the carer. Under 5's Playgroup
A community Playgroup providing a safe and secure environment with a high adult/child ratio where children from 2½ to 5 years learn through play. Voluntary Action Maidston
Voluntary Action Maidstone started in 1975  as Maidstone Volunteer Bureau. We are still a local charity serving people in the Borough of Maidstone but we have grown to become a Council for Voluntary Service and offer a range of services to organisations and to individual people. The Volunteer Centre provides an enormous choice of exciting opportunities for people to volunteer. Our developing infrastructure support role for voluntary and community groups means we are able to help local services flourish. Our frontline services offer assistance to older people, people with disabilities, people with mental health problems and carers.
