Staplehurst Carnival and Fete
Surrenden Playing Field ~ Saturday 29th June 2013 from 12:00 noon

'An extravaganza of fun and entertainment for everyone'

Following the amazing events of 2012 there's a return this year to a one day event to be held on King George VI (Surrenden) Playing Field. As a group we have taken on board comments about how much the evening concerts were enjoyed during the Jubilee weekend so for the first time we've introduced a FREE evening event featuring music from the 70s, a tribute to the musical Grease and back by popular demand a tribute to ABBA.

How YOU can help

Can we help you? Can you help us?

We will be producing a minimum 24 page colour brochure for the event, which will be distributed to every home in the village in early June. This is a great opportunity to advertise your business, and at the same time support the biggest annual event in our village. Interested? Please contact Bob Ham on 892742, or Stuart Wilden on  892764 for more details.

As a very small, friendly, (and aging!) committee we are very keen to hear from anybody who could help us. Be part of the organising committee, or help on the day, specific skills or general help, all would be really appreciated! To find out more, without commitment, please contact Graham Sivyer on 892270.

Fundraising

A couple of fundraising events are planned in the coming months
, the first an evening event to celebrate St Georges Day when we welcome Del & Den to the Village Centre for a night of 'Rockney Cockney' - an entertaining salute to the musical influence of Chas and Dave. Read the Parish Magazine article for more information

The second is our annual 10k road run, again organised on our behalf by Nice Work to take place on Sunday 16th June. We're grateful to Arron Services again this year for their generous sponsorship of the event which saw almost 300 entries in 2012 with hopes of topping that figure this year.

Sponsors

Without their generosity this annual village event could not take place on the scale it does, so as they've supported the event please in turn support them wherever possible.
